Increased Use of Recycled Materials
Even with all its productivity-enhancing features, this ThinkPad was designed with recycling in mind. We used recycled post-consumer content (PCC) in various components, including 90% in the speaker enclosure, 90% in the battery compartment, and 90% in the power adapter. Keycaps use 70-80% PCC recycled plastic, while the keyboard frame relies on 60% PCC. The bottom cover uses 50% PCC and the display uses 50%. Plus, the packaging is 100% plastic-free and Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) certified.

We’ve redesigned the legendary ThinkPad keyboard, making it even better! Tactile markings on significant keys and an LED Braille dome to indicate the power port make it easier for visually impaired people to correctly identify. We swapped the locations of the Ctrl and Fn keys. And the TrackPad is now 115mm / 4.53". Our iconic red TrackPoint still lets you navigate — double tap to open the customizable quick settings menu to optimize audio-video settings (TPQM). We’ve also improved air intake and venting, resulting in a thermal design that increases performance.
